Fiona James is a British racing driver competing in the European GT4 Series in an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 with team Academy Motorsport.
Fiona was introduced into the motorsports arena in 2006 when she attended a open track day, and she has not looked back since. She has gone on to compete in Formula Woman, Radical Sportscars, Ginetta G50, BritSports Championship, Barcelona 24 Hour and the Dutch Supercar Challenge.
Fiona is now currently racing an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 with Academy Motorsport in the European GT4 Series. The series takes place at some of the most iconic circuits in the world, including Spa-Francorchamps, Nurburgring, Brands Hatch and more. Deciding to go ahead and race in an Aston Martin had some great perks for Fiona and granted her the opportunity of a lifetime. Aston Martin offered Fiona the opportunity to race in this years support race at Le Mans 2018. An opportunity Fiona was never going to turn down!
Fiona James is racing alongside experienced pro racing driver and team Academy Motorsport owner, Matt Nicoll-Jones. Matt has a great track record of taking amateur drivers under his wing and help them fulfil their full racing potential. Fiona has already noticed the benefits with Matt’s guidance, gradually improving her lap speeds closer and closer to partner Matt. Although there has not yet been a podium victory for the pair, Fiona has certainly proved her racing capabilities with her determination and success in climbing up the positions. We are now approaching the last few rounds of the series with the next round to take place at Hungaroring.
