Fiona James and Matt Nicoll-Jones are back in action in the European GT4 Series.
The third round of the European GT4 Series visits Italy at its iconic Misano race circuit.
Following a strong, positive performance in the last round at Brands Hatch the pair were hoping not to have any difficulties that could hinder their performance. The weather conditions for qualifying were wet and miserable in Misano but it soon picked up for race day and turned into perfect racing conditions. The racing conditions in qualifying proved to be difficult in the miserable, wet track and it was not the result the pair wanted. During the qualifying there appeared to be a problem with the damper in the Aston, much to their luck another hinderance for their racing performance.

The race got underway with Matt doing an incredible job to bring the Aston into P3! The time had come for Matt to pass on the car over to Fiona to allow the second stint of the race. Frustratingly, there was a problem with the belts which meant it was a slow turnaround in the pits; lost roughly 30 seconds! Struggling to find the pace of the car to begin with, Fiona soon picked up her drive and found her pace! Fiona got into her stride and started to climb up the pack, proving she had the pace to get into the points. However, it was just a little too late for Fiona to get into her stride and she didn’t have enough time to continue her climbing streak to the points! Another positive performance with a lot to take forward into the next round in Spa!
